We hiked part of the trail towards Dog Lake in Big Cottonwood canyon today. The trail was still very snow-covered in several spots, so we only made it a mile with the kids. Still, the scenery was beaufitul and the weather was perfect. We stopped on the way down the canyon near the Mill B fork or something where we got a good look at the spring run-off.
Randy had a good ol' time, saying things like "Dad, I love the mud in the mountains." His favorite thing was to slide in the snow or mud on the way down while hanging on to dad's arm (without dad falling...).
I didn't start the GPS until our first break on the way up.
